Maintenance is one of the most important roles at Glaciers Edge Maintenance. It is the Maintenance Technician who not only helps customers by repairing a leaky faucet or fixing the decks to enjoy those long summer days, they are the ones who puts customers at ease with their customer service skills and knowledge expertise. It is the Maintenance team who keeps our commercial and residential clients loving their property, and referring their friends and neighbors.
As a Maintenance Technician you will ensure that projects brought to us by our clients are repaired safely, with visual appeal and adhering to applicable laws/codes. You will diagnose problems and make repairs in areas such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, decks, carpentry, dry walling, exterior, structural, appliances, and exterior grounds maintenance.

Property maintenance can be a 24/7 job. Most work orders can be scheduled and filled during our companies standard 8-6 M-Thr schedule. However, it is very important that our Maintenance team is available on-call to assist customers with the issues in their homes as well as respond in the event of snow and ice and other on-site emergencies.

Qualifications Desired to be Successful in this Role:
Essential skills:
• Drywall Repair
• Match existing drywall texture
• Replace/ rewire light bulbs and fixtures
• Use extension ladders, scaffolding, and aerial equipment safely
• Use various hand and power tools safely and effectively
• Minor plumbing to include: clearing drains, repairing leaking fixtures, replacing fixtures, etc
• Interior and exterior painting
• Applying caulk and other adhesives, both interior and exterior
• Gutter cleaning and minor repair
• Testing of furnace, boiler, and water heater components
• Basic carpentry to include; building shelves, retrofit windows/doors, build small additions and partition walls
• Use cleaners, solvents, brushes, and pressure washes on any exterior area of buildings
• Tree trimming and falling
• Tile cleaning, sealing, installation, and repair
• Fence and deck repairs
• Operate snow removal equipment

Customer Service
• Ability to liaise and follow up with other contractors on behalf of our clients
• Present a professional appearance and demeanor
• Build trust with clients
• Effectively communicate with clients and management
• Able to be prompt at follow through with commitments

Estimating and Sales
• Able to give accurate time estimates for minor projects on-site
• Able to gather necessary information to ensure larger projects can be accurately estimated by office staff
• Consult with clients to determine their needs and wants
• Advise customers of various options for repair, and educate them on the choices
• Help guide customers through projects and repairs
• Give advice and suggestions regarding additional repairs that may be needed
