SNOW SERVICE

Best of Alaska Snow Removal Company

How do I know when my driver will clear my driveway?

“When are you coming to clear my driveway?”

It’s one of the most common questions we get in the snow removal industry. When you’re trying to get to work, get the kids out the door, or figure out whether you have time for another cup of coffee, knowing where your snow removal company is makes a difference.

At Glaciers Edge Maintenance, our fleet tracking gives you that information without having to call and ask. Here’s what to expect when we’re out clearing Anchorage driveways.

First, Watch for Our Email

Before we begin service, we send an email letting you know we’re getting started. That’s your heads-up to prepare for us.

It’s a good time to move vehicles out of the driveway and make sure trash cans, sleds, and anything else that could be buried are out of the way. We can ensure higher quality work, and a faster response time when we have room to work.

And yes, the extension cord  that disappeared during the last snowfall may still be out there.

Your Tracking Link Shows Who’s on the Way

You’ll then receive an email and/or text message with a link that lets you track your operator. Open it to see their progress and an estimated arrival time for your property.

That means you don’t have to guess whether we’re working nearby or still making our way through another part of the route. You can check the link easily from your phone.

As your operator gets closer, the tracker also shows a countdown of houses before yours. If you’ve watched an Amazon delivery go from several stops away to almost at your door, this will seem familiar. Our delivery just involves taking something away, usually several inches of it.

Is the Arrival Time Exact?

The ETA is an estimate, so leave a little flexibility in your plans. One driveway may take longer than another, and conditions can change as we work through the route.

The countdown gives you another useful reference as we approach. Together, the estimated arrival time and remaining houses provide a much better picture than simply knowing we’re “out plowing.”

Please use that advance notice to get ready before the operator arrives. Moving a vehicle is much easier when you’re already wearing boots than when you’re searching for them with one eye on the tractor outside.

Why We Use Fleet Tracking

Hiring someone for residential snow removal in Anchorage should take a chore off your list. It shouldn’t add a morning of wondering when the driveway will be cleared.

Our tracking system helps keep you informed from the first service email through the operator’s approach. You get a heads-up, a way to follow progress, and a clearer idea of when to expect us. On top of that, you can rate your operator and send any notes after the service is complete.
